Reshaping nutrition across Europe
Accelerating the dietary shift from animal-based to alternative dietary proteins
Accelerating the dietary shift from animal-based to alternative dietary proteins
We engage with a wide range of stakeholders including European policymakers through co-creation workshops and interactive sessions to work towards maximum impact.
We focus our research on alternative proteins with large potential for consumer uptake to create safe, healthy and sustainable innovations to overcome barriers to their adoption in diets.
We develop new and improved methods in key areas, for example by including biodiversity impact in sustainability assessments, predicting the allergenicity of novel proteins and modelling full impacts of diets on health and the environment.
We create open-access datasets to foster pan-European cooperation and data sharing on traditional and alternative protein sources.
We define future diets optimized for health and environmental impact, based on alternative proteins that are broadly accepted across stakeholder groups.
We design a set of educational tools for students, professionals and public society to upgrade knowledge and practical skills and overcome biases.
I am honoured and excited to collaborate with renowned experts and organisations that share an ambition to create scientific, societal and economic impact by providing a path towards healthy, sustainable, achievable and consumer-accepted diets in Europe that incorporate alternative proteins in an optimal way.
